Smith, Jr. sent th following comment: "The locomotive is the same design created for General Motor's Aerotrain, but this particular trainset is an ACF-built Talgo, originally called the Jet Rocket. This particular model LWT-1 differs from the two sister locomotives, Rock Island numbers 2 and 3, acquired with the two actual Aerotrains, in that it had a Blomberg front truck, whereas the other two featured a four-wheel Flexi-Coil, similar to those used under some EMD switchers intended for some road service use." |
