UP 908 with Tr #111 Ready to Chase the Sun  Contributor's Pick!
UP E9A 908 and two B-units were about to leave Savanna, IL (on the Milwaukee Road) and would immediately cross the Mississippi River this late afternoon with the combined City of Denver and City of Portland. The train would acquire the UP in Omaha. The proud UP kept its passenger engines clean to the end. 908 would work for Amtrak for a while and was returned to the UP unservicable and was scrapped in 1975.
