MILW 85A (a big question) and 233  Contributor's Pick!
Both an F3A and an F7A carried the number 85A. The F3A was traded in 1965. What is this? Look at the stuff on the roof and the painted port hole windows.

Ron Moraca General What do you see on the roof of the F7A that I don't see, Marty? I don't see anything there. Excellent photo! 11/9/2008 10:54:44 PM
Scott Renner General If this is 1976, then this is a F7. The F3 that carried this number was traded in to either EMD or GE for GP/35/U25B/U28B in 03/1965. 7/25/2009 4:32:36 AM
Marty Bernard General Yes, but what's the stuff on the roof? Was dynamic braking added? 7/25/2009 10:16:17 AM
Alan Fricker General A spark arrestor system on the roof? The MILW did have several different types of spark arrestors. 1/30/2011 11:44:23 AM
David Brudnicki General Those are winterization hatches over the cooling fans to keep the snow out. Milw and BN both applied them to F-units used in snow plow service. 11/18/2014 12:11:17 PM
