RPCX 1827 With Its 10-seat Smoker Lounge (right end of the car) at the North Carolina Transportation Museum  Contributor's Pick!
Thanks to Jerry LaBoda who provided this heratage. The Car was built as Boston & Maine 4803 Black Bird, a 56-seat coach - 10-seat smoker, the car was sold to the Wabash in 1957 where it became WAB 1420 (no name), retaining the coach - smoker configuration. After the N&W took over the side corrugation was removed (because of the cor-ten rust damage) and numbered 1827. Was transferred to the Roanoke Chapter, NRHS in 1971.
