Jim Satterwhite General Anticipating 2012? Great photojournalism documenting a restoration project. 6/26/2011 5:44:16 AM
Gregg Bartley General Look at how those beams are set diagonally. That's really interesting. I wonder what the reason is for that, as it seems it would make the building process very difficult compared to just right angle construction, like framing a house. Interesting stuff. 8/17/2013 12:56:34 PM

Gregg Bartley General OK, don't know why that happened.... Sorry about the double posting. But I guess, after thinking about it for more than about 30 seconds, the diagonal cross bracing is the same as anything, such as bridge trusses. Wooden box cars have the same diagonal bracing on the outside of the car. I was just not expecting to see that here... Let's see if I can manage not to post this one twice. 8/17/2013 1:04:31 PM
Marty Bernard General You hit it on the head -- like truss bridges. 8/17/2013 4:29:08 PM
